Plymouth, Massachusetts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/foodietales.com\/2013\/03\/the-lobster-hut-plymouth-massachusetts\/lobster_hut_exterior\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3140\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-3140\" title=\"Lobster_Hut_exterior\" src=\"http:\/\/foodietales.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Lobster_Hut_exterior-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>The Lobster Hut<br \/>\n25 Town Wharf<br \/>\nPlymouth, MA\u00a0 02360<br \/>\n1-508-746-2270<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lobsterhutplymouth.com\/\">http:\/\/www.lobsterhutplymouth.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>There is a food phenomena in New England seaside towns generically known as a \u201cclam shack\u201d.\u00a0 Typically these are not much more than a small shack-like building.\u00a0 Some have received add-ons over the years so they are a bit larger than their humble beginnings but they remain true to their roots.\u00a0 These are places that locals flock to when they need a fix of fresh, typically fried, seafood.\u00a0 And french fries.\u00a0 And onion rings.\u00a0 And rice pilaf.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This review is of our favorite home town clam shack, the Lobster Hut.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/foodietales.com\/2013\/03\/the-lobster-hut-plymouth-massachusetts\/lobster_hut_sign-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3149\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-3149\" title=\"Lobster_Hut_sign\" src=\"http:\/\/foodietales.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Lobster_Hut_sign1-300x79.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"542\" height=\"144\" srcset=\"http:\/\/foodietales.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Lobster_Hut_sign1-300x79.jpg 300w, http:\/\/foodietales.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Lobster_Hut_sign1.jpg 996w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 542px) 100vw, 542px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As is typical of this type of establishment, it is located right on the waterfront at the Town Wharf &#8211; which is pretty deserted in mid-February.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/foodietales.com\/2013\/03\/the-lobster-hut-plymouth-massachusetts\/lobster_hut_boat\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3139\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-3139\" title=\"Lobster_Hut_boat\" src=\"http:\/\/foodietales.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Lobster_Hut_boat-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"470\" height=\"342\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On entering the building there is a chalkboard with the day\u2019s specials.\u00a0 Be sure to check for items of interest.\u00a0 One of my favorite specials is fried lobster and shrimp.\u00a0 Yes, fried lobster.\u00a0 Its very tasty and I usually order it whenever it is offered.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/foodietales.com\/2013\/03\/the-lobster-hut-plymouth-massachusetts\/lobster_hut_pricing_sign\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3143\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-3143\" title=\"Lobster_Hut_pricing_sign\" src=\"http:\/\/foodietales.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Lobster_Hut_pricing_sign-216x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"367\" height=\"447\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Inside, the regular menu items are printed on a large sign over the order counter and there is also another board with the day\u2019s specials.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/foodietales.com\/2013\/03\/the-lobster-hut-plymouth-massachusetts\/lobster_hut_pricing_sign_panoramic\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3144\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-3144\" title=\"Lobster_Hut_pricing_sign_panoramic\" src=\"http:\/\/foodietales.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Lobster_Hut_pricing_sign_panoramic-300x90.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"522\" height=\"144\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There is a certain etiquette in placing your order.\u00a0 Know what you want before its your turn at the order counter!\u00a0 Standing in front of the order taker, holding up the line, while you look over the many choices is frowned upon in these establishments, although they will be too polite to say anything.\u00a0 Once you\u2019ve placed your order, and paid for it, you\u2019ll be given a slip with your number.\u00a0 Move out of the way and go look for an available table.\u00a0 Your number will be called when your order is ready, which is usually less than 15 minutes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>So, what is the food like?\u00a0 As I said above there are a lot of fried foods on the menu.\u00a0 You\u2019ll find their full menu available on their web site.\u00a0 I know that lots of people prefer to avoid fried foods but its kind of the \u201cstandard\u201d for a clam shack place.\u00a0 At the Lobster Hut you\u2019ll find that they use a simple flour breading which is not at all thick or heavy so it doesn\u2019t absorb a lot of the cooking oil.\u00a0 For those who absolutely must avoid fried foods, they do have a selection of broiled seafood.<\/p>\n<p>Over the years we have kind of fallen into a routine when visiting the Lobster Hut.\u00a0 I usually go for one of three favorites, fish &amp;
