About Amy Shapiro

Amy Lynn Shapiro, recipient of the BMI Jerry Harrington Musical Theatre Award (2008) is a proud member of the Advanced BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop, She is the legal assistant for the HIV Project at Lambda Legal. She holds a B.A. (summa cum laude) in Political Science from Rider University.. Amy is mentored as a lyricist by award winning singer-songwriter Steve Schalchlin (off-Broadway: The Last Session, The Big Voice: God or Merman?). She is an avid runner and is training for her second marathon. She lives in Manhattan with her husband, Patrick, and two cats, Cosette and Herbie.
